Q. I have never had the opportunity to drink alkaline water. Which brand/model makes the best water?
A The proof of which is the best, is to look at the test results of the healthiness of the water. Everybody’s got their hype about why they think they sell the best, but the bottom line is…which one produces the healthiest water?
A. There are basically five reasons why you should drink alkaline ionized water rather than regular or bottled water:
1. Our bodies are acidic. Acid wastes from our cells, tissues and organs can’t be released into the blood and make their way out of the body unless our body has enough alkaline in it to create a neutral balance. With most people, many wastes sit in the cells for long periods or forever waiting to be eliminated. The longer acid wastes stay in the cells the greater the chances of diseases or mutations (cancers). Research shows that diseases thrive in an acid environment. The modern fast-food diets we eat, sodas we drink, and stressful lifestyles we live only make that acid environment inside our bodies worse over time. To combat this, drinking alkaline water helps to buffer this acidity and neutralize our bodies, allowing our cells to be cleansed…leading to a longer, healthier life potential and more energy on a daily basis. An interesting study was conducted by Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Alexis Carrell. Carrel did an experiment to keep cells from a chicken heart alive and healthy, reproducing new healthy cells, for 28 years [and all signs showed they could have lived on and on forever]! Chickens only live 3 years! This study proves that in the right environment cells do not “age” or become diseased. The bottom line of this research was…our cells need to be cleaned and stay cleaned [daily]. The only way to do that is to drink plenty of alkaline ionized water daily.
2. Good alkaline water ionizers use high quality filters, and you can also purchase extra pre-filters, which remove harmful substances from the water (such as chlorine and lead) and allow the good minerals (such as calcium) to pass through, so you can get the highest quality of ingredients in the water you drink - and without the bad stuff.
3. Have you ever heard of “making water wetter”? Most water clusters itself in groups of 11 - 16 molecules stuck together. These clusters are so large that it’s hard to actually penetrate through cell membranes. The process of ionizing the water splits the water into smaller clusters of 5-8 molecules and so making it easier to get the water into your cells.
4. Good water ionizers create water that is not only alkaline (to help buffer our bodies’ acidity), but also has a high “Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)”, as measured by an ORP meter. You’re probably more familiar with the expression “anti-oxidant”. Alkaline ionized water’s ability to act as an anti-oxidant in your body is much, much greater than regular or bottled water. As a matter of fact, research shows that bottled water is bad for you. Regular tap water, normally filtered tap water and bottled water have high oxidation potentials. That means … high potential to oxidize and damage your cells. This is the opposite of ORP. The ionization process reverses the oxidation potential of tap water and creates as much as -200 or -300 ORP, which is a high strength of antioxidant potential. Antioxidants are needed to keep our cells from oxidizing and mutating. When they mutate you see this as the body’s aging process. Severe mutations you see as cancer.
5. Alkaline ionized water using a good quality machine is cheaper than both bottled and regular water! Divide the cost of the machine (let’s say you get a machine that costs $1,800.00) by 365 days and again by 5 years (the warranty period of a good water ionizer). That is less than $1.00 per day to create all the alkaline ionized water you and your family can drink per day. Given the fact that most machines last for over 10 or even 20 years without needing repairs, it follows that your cost of water will probably be less than even 50 cents per day to drink as much water as you like. Not only that, but an even more compelling reason I say alkaline ionized water is cheaper than regular water from the tap or bottled water is because of all the preventative health benefits. Remember that old saying: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?” That’s what I mean by real savings!!! Look at all the doctor bills you save when you simply don’t get sick.

A: First of all, if you compare them to medical equipment, they're not expensive at all. But I'll explain how the expense breaks down. The most cost is in the plates. Platinum is right now selling for over $950.00 per ounce! Each plate in the water cell (which is the heart of the water ionizer) is coated with this expensive platinum. Water ionizers have between five and seven of these plates. The reason for using platinum is that it, of all metals, will not break down and leach into your water... even over time. So it will virtually last forever, and as long as your machine has a good cleaning cycle it will produce as healthy water 20 years from now as it does today. The second greatest cost is in the research, development and production of the machine. These are very scientifically developed and intricate machines and the researchers don't typically receive grant money for it either. Finally, I wanted to add a statement made by a friend of mine yesterday, "If I would have known all I know today 7 months ago when I bought this machine, I would have been willing to pay $20,000.00 for it...or even more." My friend attributes being alive today to the fact that she started drinking ionized water.
Q: How could you be sure your water supply is not too hard or just the opposite does not have enough minerals in it? I'm fairly sure these water ionizer's do not have a way of telling you that the water you’re providing for it to be ionized isn't good enough,
A: You can call your local water company [see your water bill] and ask them to send you a report, and from there we can analyze your water. If you live in an area where you need to use reverse osmosis on your water (due to contamination) you’ll need an ionizer which will allow you to add enough minerals into your water to ionize it properly. Water that has little or no minerals, such as reverse osmosis or distilled water has no pathway for the electrolysis or "ionization" to occur. Also, in the case of hard water, make sure your machine has a good self-cleaning system [all of the ionizers on my site do]. If you have hard water and an insufficient cleaning system, you’ll end up getting scaling on your plates, which will lower your machine’s effectiveness over time. Q: What is an "alkaline water ionizer"?
A: First of all an alkaline water ionizer filters and reduces the size of your water molecule clusters so that your water is more absorbable into your cells. Q: Are there any cautions about drinking ionized alkaline water?
A: You should start slowly. Set the controls to the lowest alkaline level. Assuming the water agrees with you, increase the amount you drink and the level of ionization intensity. High levels of alkalinity -- up to 9.5-10.0 -- are best for drinking water; the highest levels can be used for cooking.
Use the "Purified Water" setting for taking any medications that your doctor advises not to be taken with alkaline water. Do not drink the acid water that comes out of the lower spout, ever.
Q: What is pH, and how do I test my body's pH?
Q: What kind of water can I use to produce alkaline water?
A: Regular tap water is best. Distilled water or water filtered by reverse osmosis does not have any minerals, therefore it cannot be ionized. Water ionizers can be used with most well water. The two most common problems found in well water are hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg, sulfur smell) and high iron or calcium content. Both of these conditions can be remedied with the proper pre-filter. The mineral content of your source water directly affects the strength of ionized water you can produce. The more minerals, the stronger the ionization: higher alkalinity and higher antioxidant potential.
Q: Is the Water Ionizer just another new, unproved fad?
A: No. The Water Ionizers have been in use worldwide for more than 25 years for home and industrial applications. In Korea, it has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
